Bean Blossom Half Marathon

 Where: Morgan-Monroe State Park

 When: June 27, 2010 the Half Marathon begins at 8AM

 Packet Pick-Up: Will be at the shelter on Main Forest Road just about three miles from the entrance coming in off of 37. If you are coming in the back way we are located 1/2 half a mile after the park office. Signs will be posted.

 Course: The course is rolling with some challenging hills. It is probably one of the toughest half marathons in Indiana. The last two miles is all up hill on Bean Blossom Street, reaching an elevation of about 1,000 feet. If you are ready for a mid-summer challenge this race is for you!

 When you click on the above link you can see the climbing you shall be doing! Go to the right hand corner, under info and tools (where the miles are) click on show elevation. The elevation map will show up, have fun looking at it!

 There will be a water/Gatorade/cookies/bananas/animal cookies stop every two miles; this is also an aid station if you need help

 There will be multiple staff driving on the course in case an injury occurs. Please pull off to the side of the road if injury does occur and a staff will pick you up. 

 Prizes: Prize money will be given out on a sliding scale. We will pay 1/4 of each field 90% of their entry fee.

 The following are the categories in both the women and men division: 

 13 and under 14-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55 & older.

 Awards will be presented at 11AM, if you are not there to accept your awards we will send it to you. No showers are on site at Morgan Monroe.

 Participants can park at Morgan-Monroe State Park off to the side of the road. 

 Drop Bags: Participants can put all of their belongings in a drop bag to drop at the start line and be picked up after a participant finishes at the shelter where you registered.

 Morgan-Monroe State Forest is located 35 miles south of Indianapolis. Take U.S. 37 south from I-465. Just 4 miles south of Martinsville, watch for the State Forest/Race sign. No forest entrance or parking fee; park along Forest Road. Do not park on street, as race occurs on the street.
